NEW TRAILER: Adam Sandler in 'Hotel Transylvania'

Hotel Transylvania will tickle your funny bone!

A brand new trailer for Sony Pictures Animated‘s latest film, Hotel Transylvania, is currently circulating around the internet. Adam Sandler will star as the most famous animated vampire in history, Dracula, who owns a high class resort where the creatures of the night can hide away from the human world in peace. Humanity has no knowledge of the resort, however the Count’s daughter–Mavis (Selena Gomez)–is curious about the outside world.

On her 118th birthday, Dracula invites other legendary monsters to his estate: Frank/Frankenstein (Kevin James), Murray the Mummy (Cee-Lo Green), and Griffin the Invisible Man (David Spade). Unexpectedly, a male human named Johnathan (Andy Samberg..he is sooo cute!!) discovers the place, and falls in love with the daughter of the Prince of Darkness. Other celebrities, including Fran Drescher (The Nanny), Jon Lovitz (The Critic), and Steve Buscemi (Saturday Night Live, Reservoir Dogs), voice characters in the film.

The latest trailer is presented in 3D and is over a minute longer than the original, revealing more plot details and parading the marvelous, colorful animation and backdrops that will be featured in the film. Samberg appears to be a hilarious fit for the dense character of Johnathan, and Gomez is perfect for portraying a teenager. The cast for Hotel Transylvania is clearly well mapped and each actor/actress seems to have a great grasp on their assigned roles, with Sandler’s voicing of the Count standing as very impressive.

Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack, Dexter’s Laboratory) is the director and Michelle Murdocca is the producer, while Sandler will serve as the executive producer. Hotel Transylvania has been in production since 2006, with four previous directors being tied to the film. Miley Cyrus was originally slated to be the voice of the Mavis–luckily, Gomez was chosen just in time. I am absolutely looking forward to a Sandler animation–looks pretty sweet!
