Dishonored. Heck yes, I’m buying it.
Bethesda, you are my hero. Not only has my world been turned upside down when the Elder Scrolls: Skyrim was released (amounting to 250+ hours played), I’ve had many a sleepless night. Now, you gracious creators have done it again. With the impending release of DISHONORED by French developer Arkane Studios, I am certain to endure long days and nights of game-play:
You are the once-trusted bodyguard of the beloved Empress. Framed for her murder, you become an infamous assassin, known only by the disturbing mask that has become your calling card. In a time of uncertainty, when the city is being besieged by plague and ruled by an oppressive government armed with neo-industrial technologies, dark forces conspire to bestow upon you, abilities beyond those of any common man – but at what cost? The truth behind your betrayal is as murky as the waters surrounding the city, and the life you once had is gone forever.
As an assassin, be prepared for first-person game control and it seems familiar to Assassin’s Creed slash Bioshock’s style of play. You will also be able to make “decisions” on how you will approach each conflict–you can resist corruption, show mercy, or leave a path of destruction. The impressive world was created by Half-Life 2 art director Viktor Antonov.
Dishonored, a first-person shooter, will be released later this year and available for the PC, XBOX 360, and the PlayStation 3.
