David Morrissey Joins The Cast of THE WALKING DEAD

AMC’s The Walking Dead continues to crank out the awesome for Season 3 by adding prolific British actor David Morrissey as the Governor in the hit series. Why is this significant you may be asking? Well, it is an unfortunate reality that the season finale of The Walking Dead is approaching and while there has been a sufficient amount of awesome to keep fans of the show entertained–it’s just been missing one overshadowing element–the sinister Governor from the comic-book series.

It has been up in the air whether or not the show would continue to adhere to Kirkman’s book format, it seems that the show will, without a doubt. Season 3 will feature the ultimate Rick Grimes antagonist–”the Governor” and what a sick, twisted, and ultimate bad-ass viewers will have on their hands. “The Governor” made his debut appearance in issue 27 of the series comics. This dude keeps a “zombie” girlfriend, and removed her teeth just so he could kiss her! Sick!

The British actor will assume his new TV role as a leader of a survivor colony in the series and if the television show even borders on the “actual” of the comic–if you already think Shane is a problem for Rick and his crew–just wait until you get a load of The GovernorNot only has this announcement intensified my ever growing need to watch current seasons’ episodes–it has made me manic waiting for season 3 of The Walking Dead

Those of you who are still doubtful about this season–just you wait until season 3! My prediction:  the series will gain new interest and hordes of new viewers for the already phenomenal ‘un-dead’ series.

Morrissey is already known for starring in several television series including Doctor Who; and in film The Reaping, Basic Instincts 2,  and the John Lennon film biopic Nowhere Boy. Morrissey is scheduled to appear in The Walking Dead Season 3; a 16-episode order from the awesome over at AMC. Production begins this spring in hot Atlanta!
