This is Elliot. He’s in love. But he doesn’t know it yet.

Falling Overnight(2011) – Conrad Jackson’s Falling Overnight, was shot on a shoestring budget over fourteen summer nights. Conceived by director Conrad Jackson in collaboration with writing partners Parker Croft and Aaron Golden, the team attempted to capture the numbness and isolation that comes from being “one of the sick people”, thereby creating an intimate romance film where love can find it’s way in the most difficult of circumstances. Sans all of the hype and drama that seems to complicate and are found in many romantic films–Overnight creates realistic romantics–something the film’s main character, Elliot (Parker Croft) will miss.

Falling Overnight tells the story of twenty-two year old Elliot Carson (Parker Croft) on the day before he has risky surgery to remove a brain tumor. Facing what could be his last night, Elliot’s path intersects with  Chloe Webb (Emilia Zoryan), a young photographer who invites him to her art show. Elliot welcomes the distraction and as the night descends,  Chloe takes him on an intimate and exhilarating journey through the city. But as morning approaches, and Chloe learns of Elliot’s condition, the magic of the evening unravels, and they must together face the uncertainty of Elliot’s future.

Fall in love this summer.

During the early development phase, the decision was made to forgo the standard for music selections and instead focused on a natural, “true to life” appeal to the film. Filmmakers chose to utilize sourced materials wherever possible. This meant finding indie artists to fill the soundtrack for the film.  It took an exhausting 5-months to to compile a selection of extremely talented musicians, with the help of music supervisor Marcela May Mojtczak, searched band websites, search calenders of the indie venues of Los Angeles, Toronto, Austin, Portland, Chicago, and New York, and even incorporated the help of family, friends and were successful to build the 28-song soundtrack, which features a wide-range of independent music artists essential in enveloping viewers in the world of Falling Overnight.

Fall in love again.
