Grimm is back at a new time!

NBC GRIMM – The second season of Grimm is almost here and NBC treats fans to a brand new clip of the upcoming episode debuting on Monday, August 13, 2012. Last season’s finale ended in the surprising twist that Nick’s (David Gintouli) mother Kelly (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) is still alive. In the clip “An Unlikely Friendship”, she is shocked to find Nick has befriended Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner)–a Blutbad and a Fuchsbau. He then attempts to explain to her things have changed in a short amount of time and his latest friends are cooperating with him, and Monroe and Rosalee inform Nick they have formulated a cure for Juliette’s (Bitsie Tulloch) condition caused by Adalind’s (Claire Coffee) beloved cat Majique.

However, Kelly also knows nothing about Juliette, and Monroe takes the time to poke at Nick not being able to catch up with his mother. From what could be seen in the finale, her Grimm combat skills would prove to be useful to the team in season two. Since she’s pursuing the same group, she could also provide much valued and needed information. Plus it’ll give Nick a nice boost knowing his mother is alright and may be fighting alongside him.

The show follows the daily life of Detective Nick Burkhardt continuing to uncover the mysteries surrounding his Grimm identity. Nick has the ability to see Wessen–creatures previously believed to exist only in fairy tales. Grimms are responsible for keeping the balance between the human and Wessen worlds, and must protect humans from malevolent breed. On top of his regulation duties, Nick must continue his investigation into the Seven Families and their influence that spans the globe.
