John Mayer – New York (May 10, 2012) – John Mayer’s video for this new single Shadow Days ”follows him” on a journey from Los Angeles to Montana–and his fans can follow, too. Mayer fans can create their own video journey by creating a personalized “interactive version” of the video.
Google Maps Street View API in conjunction with SoundCloud will allow users to enter their “beginning” and “ending” destinations and begin a virtual road trip set to the Shadow Days music video. Each experience is created randomly; every “real time” journey will be unique each time a new destination is entered on the Shadow Days site. In addition, fans will be able to donate to the Northern California Institute for Research (NCIRE), devoted to medical research for veterans’ and pioneers new understandings and treatments involving military medicine and care.
When Mayer’s fans make a donation of $5 or more, they will receive 25% of the donation amount on a future order at the John Mayer store.
Shadow Days is the first single on Mayer’s forthcoming album Born and Raised (May 22, 2012) and has already received favorable reviews detailed in the latest issue from Rolling Stone Magazine (4-star review):
