FILMDISTRICT Dead Man Down (2013) a film by acclaimed director Niels Arden Oplev (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) presents a new revenge laden crime-thriller starring Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace. Farrell stars as the crime boss enforcer Victor out to exact revenge for the death of his wife and daughter. He falls for Beatrice (Rapace) who has an agenda of her own–and will use Victor with her own desire for vengeance.
Synopsis: Niels Arden Oplev, the acclaimed director of the original The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, makes his American theatrical debut with the new action thriller, DEAD MAN DOWN. Colin Farrell and Noomi Rapace star as two strangers who are irresistibly drawn to one another by their mutual desire for revenge. The film co-stars Academy Award® nominee Terrence Howard and Dominic Cooper, from a screenplay by J.H.Wyman (Fringe).
With a production budget of 30-million, Dead Man Down opens alongside Oz: The Great and Powerful. A good move? Perhaps. From the looks of it, Farrell’s “Victor” is a force to be reckoned with in the trailer. Swedish actress Noomi Rapace makes yet another acting debut in an American feature film–her first as Madam Simza Heron in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and as Elizabeth Shaw in director Ridley Scott‘s Prometheus.

Howard is the brutal crime lord Alphonse Hoyt, who becomes infuriated when his businesses are sabotaged by a rogue anti-hero (Farrell). The film overall seems like an intense, power-action thriller teeming with gun fire, explosions and the occasional romance.
Hence, your typical Hollywood action feature.
In theaters March 8th

Aidy that trailer looks awesome. I really enjoyed that original GWTDT. Love that cover of Shine on You Crazy Diamond, hope that is in the film as well.
Indeed. Not my kind of film, though very interesting.

Looks like a neat mash up of Scandinavian style thriller with a Western edge to it. Very cool.
