Zack Parker’s Psychological Thriller ‘PROXY’ Debuts at Toronto Film Fest

Friendship and understanding can be very dangerous things indeed.

Director Zack Parker‘s latest film PROXY will have its World Premiere debut at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10th, 2013. Parker’s most memorable film for me–Scalene (2011) was an interestingly disturbing flick where a young college student, Paige (Hanna Hall), charged with caring for a 26 year-old mentally disabled Jakob (Adam Scarimbolo). She began to notice bruising all over his body. Suspecting his mother Janice (Margo Martindale) is responsible. Paige devises a morally disruptive plan to get Jakob away from his allegedly abusive mother, and into a mental facility where she believes he would fair better.PROXY_Poster_TIFF FINAL jpg

Paige’s good intentions were successful–she claims Jakob violently raped her–and used sound evidence to “prove it.” The story challenges viewers to make an incredibly DIFFICULT decision about who’s side they are on. However, I will have to stop there. If any of you have not seen the film, I suggest checking this one out. Below is the synopsis for Parker’s latest:

Synopsis: While walking home from her latest OB appointment, a very pregnant Esther Woodhouse (Rasmussen) is brutally attacked and disfigured by a hooded assailant. This horrible event seems to be a blessing in disguise when Esther finds consolation in a support group. Her life of sadness and solitude is opened up to friendship, understanding, and even acceptance. However, friendship and understanding can be very dangerous things when accepted by the wrong people.

If PROXY is as well put together as Scalene (2011) in story and suspense–I’d say it is a MUST SEE!
