Steve-O to Host truTV’s New Series ‘Killer Karaoke’

International television sensation Sing If You Can is coming to America. truTV has given the green-light to Killer Karaoke, based in part on the popular international television show Sing If You Can. The series will be hosted by popular comedian and Jackass star Steve-O. Killer Karaoke will challenge contestants to break out in song in the midst of extreme, hilarious and sometimes skin-crawling situations. truTV has ordered eight episodes of the series from Zodiak USA, producer of the network’s popular Hardcore Pawn, All Worked Up, and Lizard Lick Towing. Killer Karaoke is slated to launch in early 2012.

Steve-O - IMDbEach week on Killer Karaoke, contestants will try to sing a hit song while being put through the most wild, fun and unexpected physical challenges imaginable. The hits just keep on coming as contestants try to carry a tune under fire. It’s the game show that hits all the wrong notes in the best possible way.

Killer Karaoke is a music competition show as only truTV would do it – hilarious, outrageous and wild,” said Marc Juris, executive vice president and general manager of truTV. ”I’m in love with the concept of this show and overjoyed to be a part of it,” said Steve-O. “I cannot wait to get started.”

Killer Karaoke host Steve-O (a.k.a. Stephen Glover) became a household name thanks to his antics on the hit MTV series Jackass, as well as the franchise’s three blockbuster movies and the spinoff series, Wildboyz. Born in London, Steve-O has tri-national citizenship in the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada. He graduated from the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Clown College.

In the wake of his success on Jackass and Wildboyz, Steve-O embarked on the Steve-O Don’t Try This At Home Tour, establishing himself as an accomplished stage performer. He later added standup comedy to his performing inventory, with appearances at venues like Laugh Factory in Los Angeles and Comedy Cellar in New York. That success led to his current national and international tour, Entirely Too Much Information Tour, featuring standup, stunts and bar tricks. Earlier this year, Steve-O published his autobiography, Professional Idiot: A Memoir.

Executive Producers for Zodiak USA include Grant Mansfield, Natalka Znak and Claire O’Donohoe. Noah Bonnett serves as co-executive producer. For truTV, Robyn Hutt serves as executive in charge of production while Angel Annussek is executive producer.
