“Rape is the only crime in which the victim becomes the accused”–Freda Adler, criminologist and educator.
as this body–no longer my own lie altered
summer wind blows tempestuous betray
as cherished innocence–faltered
blindfold meek–gleamed and steady Walther
pity the stars! pity blessed blindness of day!
as this body–no longer my own lie altered
t’is the moonlit betrayal blind fallowed meek partnered
build immovable-brute forced what may
as cherished innocence faltered
heaving–brayed victima hand haltered
only reviving faith, heroics fail to betide! what say?
as this body–no longer my own lie altered
foul Merrick! gangling, contentious adulter’ed
poised–give to folded whimpered way
cherished innocence–faltered
knavish means fondled which bloomed–now wilted
poised–give to folded whimpered way
as this body no longer my own–lie altered
cherished innocence–faltered

Powerful. Extremely painful to read. I waited for you to publish your next piece. I must say that in each one there is something emotionally realistic about human society. Rape is a devastatingly real truth about society. It was worth the wait. Thank you.
Thank you. I see you comment here and there. Always good to have you visit. I am glad the poem was painful–it was necessary to get the message across.
You are welcomed anytime, stop by anytime.
Horrifyingly sad and powerful, really powerful imagery the pain and loss of innocence clear as a bell.
Thank you Justin. I thought it to be offensive to post. Then decided that it should be posted. Thank you for commenting, as I am honored.
Love how the poem sounds, in relation to its imagery. Choppy yet smooth.
I was always unsure whether or not to put this one up. I am glad I did. Thanks Greg.
Oh I remember this one! What a sad twisted picture perfectly illustrated.
