A condition, associated with writing as a profession,
in which an author loses the ability to produce new work.
Writer’s Block is a film by Alex Bohs, featuring a young woman experiencing what all of us at one time or another faces as a professional writer: a brick wall. This is probably one of my worst weeks for writing assignments I have had in a long time. Deadlines. Filling in for those at work wanting to get in their first week of summer vacation. All the while, I am searching for something to write–as it was bound to rear its ugly head sooner or later.
Sooner it seems.
I had only just made it home when I realized that I haven’t updated my blog in over a week. I have several posts I had started writing–and a pretty important interview that I still have to edit and focus an informative article surrounding it. So I am asking you, dear readers, to bear with me during this brief moment of melancholy. Maybe I need to get out more…socialize?
What I appreciated in watching Alex Bohs’s video is that we all at one time or another hit a brick wall and maybe all we need every once in awhile to relax and take a break.
Taking a break never hurt anyone…right?
