The Elder Scrolls®, SKYRIM, May 3, 2012 – If are doing anything awesome at this moment, this news has just made whatever you were doing better. The Elder Scrolls® ONLINE was announced earlier today by Bethesda Softworks®. The MMO project is in development at Zenimax® Online Studios, and its release will be the first time that Elder Scrolls fans will get to truly explore the awesome world of Tamriel with other players. In an announcement by game director Matt Firor:
“We have been working hard to create an online world in which players will be able to experience the epic Elder Scrolls universe with their friends, something fans have long said they wanted,” said Matt Firor, game director of The Elder Scrolls Online. “It will be extremely rewarding finally to unveil what we have been developing the last several years. The entire team is committed to creating the best MMO ever made – and one that is worthy of The Elder Scrolls franchise.”
The Elder Scrolls Online is being developed for PC and Macintosh and as of this gaming news announcement, there is no word on expanding to the 360 or PS3. More details about the Skyrim MMO will be detailed in the June issue of Game Informer® that will ship out to subscribers this month.
More news my friends–tomorrow promises a teaser trailer and more information about the MMO release, however, I am skeptic. Think about it–Skyrim as a MMO is HUGE! There are still bugs and glitches in the console game (I’m still unable to complete the Scoundrel’s Folly quest, and annoyed with the Silverhand Leader assassination attempt–he/she is still missing). Hopefully, there will be a patch for these. I am not too sure I would like to see an multi-player version of Skyrim, but I am not discouraged. I will reserve judgement until I have played the new genre of Elder Scrolls.
