MILLA JOVOVICH CYMBELINEMilla Jovovich (The Fifth Element) is set to star alongside Ethan Hawke, Ed Harris and Penn Badgley in writer-director Michael Almereyda’s modern day adaption of Shakespeare’s timeless play CYMBELINE, a film that features a “fresh take” on a universal story of love, betrayal and revenge. produced by Anthony Katagas for Keep Your Head Productions and Michael Benaroya, who will fully finance the film through his banner Benaroya Pictures. Ben Sachs of Benaroya Pictures will executive produce the film, with International Film Trust (IFT), Benaroya’s foreign sales arm, handling all international rights to the film.

Playing the Queen, Jovovich was most recently seen reprising her role as ‘Alice‘ in the fifth installment of the Sony Screen Gems RESIDENT EVIL franchise. The films have become the longest running franchise with a female lead and have collectively brought in US$915 million at the worldwide box office.

Principal photography is set to begin on August 19, 2013 in New York City, CYMBELINE unfolds as an epic battle between dirty cops and a drug dealing biker gang set in a corruption-riddled 21st century America.

Benaroya of “Benaroya Pictures” develops, finances and produces theatrical feature films with the most recent being Kill Your Darlings, starring Michael C. Hall, Daniel Radcliffe, Jack Huston, Ben Foster and Elizabeth OlsenOther recent titles include the romantic mystery The Words starring Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana and Jeremy Irons, which was released by CBS Films.

Katagas has produced over 30 films in the last ten years and worked with a variety of innovative and Oscar-winning filmmakers, including Steve McQueen, Andrew Dominik, Paul Haggis, John Singleton, Wes Craven, James Gray, Vadim Pereiman, Lasse Hallstrom, Ben Younger, Nanette Burstein, Deny Arcand, Michael Almereyda and Sofia Coppola.
